So, its the fourth of July again and there are more cops than ever in Newport. The morning started out all gray and cloudy which I think affected the entire day because this was one of the mellowest fourths I can remember in a long time. That didn't affect the girl and freaks from still showing up though. Damn Shit Kids chose this day to go to Emerald Bay instead of getting water balloons and causing trouble at 34st.
If you have seen "6 months in Wyoming" then you know about the fight at 34st. last fourth of July and you know I was waiting for a repeat for the next movie. I hung out there for a long time and it seemed like nothing was going to happen. Until Spruth and I got a hold on some huge beach ball. We quickly made up a nice game to play that went something like this: he would stand with his back to the boardwalk until we saw someone deserving of a whompin and then he would fling it over his shoulder as I videoed. Seemed people didn't like getting hit and before long a nice fight broke out with some old guy who didn't want to give the ball back. The guy then proceeded to claim 34st. as his street which made a few of the kids mad. Anywho...I buncha little kids got knocked around by some old guys until the cops came. |

Twas a good day though. Everyone got to watch as unsepecting girls got blasted with water guns and hoses again and again. Little groms were trying to fight each other all day. I will have lots more pics to post from video. All these pictures are from the camera the Captain had while I had the video camera. But I will save that for next time cause now I'm off to Mexico with Tom Carey (Transworld photog-man) and a buncha East Coast Volcom peeps. |
